Rosa Lynn Conte, LMSW

About my approach (style) to therapy…

Oftentimes, we as humans move through life with the hope of creating our own personal path for ourselves. As a practicing clinician it is my goal to help you overcome any obstacles and barriers you may face along that path, by meeting you where you are during this time. Together we will identify those barriers, create strategies for change and help you to recognize your resiliency. Through psychotherapy, I am able to provide clients and families with a perspective that meets their needs. My therapy style is client-centered focusing on the rapport built between the client and therapist to ensure the client is gaining knowledge, resources and guidance towards their particular need. I also support individuals and families using a solution-focused and strengths based approach, believing that all individuals have the ability to create positive change. As a practicing clinician, I believe it is important that those of us that provide the support also do the work ourselves, as we can only ask our clients to go to the extent that we have for ourselves.

About my background and training…

I completed my undergraduate degree in Social Work at Southern Connecticut State University, after taking a year off I went back to obtain my Master’s of Social Work from Sacred Heart University in CT. I have been working with various populations and age groups from children, adolescents, adults, juveniles, homeless, domestic violence and sexual assault victims, as well as those with anxiety, behavioral and mood disorders. I currently obtain my LMSW and practice as a Licensed Master Social Worker. I have worked for a variety of agencies and entities such as the Department of Children and Families, Hartford HealthCare, Police Departments, and Public School Systems here in CT. I am certified in Crisis Intervention Training, Suicide Ideation, Conflict Resolution, and Engaging Families. As I continue to grow in my career, I hope to attend more training to best suit the needs of my clients.

About my work (ideal clients)…

I enjoy working with all populations and age ranges providing a comfortable space for all. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy, or something you are looking to give a try again too, I want to ensure that together we focus on the goal in which you are working towards or seeking. Everything happens for a reason, so trust the journey you are on.

About me (personal interests)…

Born and raised in Norwich CT, I love to give back to my community and take care of my own well-being. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in the gym or outside either in nature or along the beach. If I am not listening to country music, I am more than likely listening to a motivational podcast, cheesy I know but it helps! I am a dog mama to an Irish Setter named Rhett who I absolutely love! I often say I am an old soul, who enjoys simplicity in life. I firmly believe in the universe having your back, and what you put out it will always read. So live your life with positivity, the clouds don’t always stay grey!
