About Amanda Coretto

About my approach (style) to therapy…

As someone who has been in therapy myself, I know how important it is to find a therapist you can connect with. I enjoy showing my sense of humor and personality to my clients in sessions. I want to help make you feel as comfortable as possible so that you can see you are in a safe place to make positive changes. I want to help you gain control back into your life and find your idea of happiness. No matter the symptoms, diagnosis or challenge, I believe in utilizing an individualized approach that is specific to helping you be your best self. At the end of the day, no one knows you better than you. I want to be a passenger in helping you navigate a path moving forward, but you are in the drivers seat.

About my background and training…

I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut and my graduate degree at Capella University. Along with becoming an LPC, I have over ten years of experience in the field and have worked for companies such as Wheeler Clinic and Yale’s IICAPS Program.

About my work (ideal clients)…

I specialize in working with children, teenagers, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I enjoy working with adults and families. II believe that my ability to connect with clients and build a therapeutic relationship is a key element to helping my clients. I have experience working with everything from extremely high intensity behaviors to mild anxious and depressive symptoms.

A Little About Me…

I’ve never met a dog I didn’t love, I have three rescue dogs of my own. I played ice hockey for my entire life and love being outdoors.
