Chris Kobesko, LPC

About My Approach (Style) to Therapy…

My approach to therapy is psychodynamic in flow. I believe that much of what we bring with us into relationships, our own psychological composition is highly congruent on our childhood. I believe that therapy and my approach is similar to unfolding a roadmap. In this roadmap we find both beauty and roads we have yet to travel. My approach as a therapist is to help navigate and guide with the client’s direction the appropriate path.

About My Background and Training…

My background is solidly grounded in both mental health and AODA counseling. I have been employed in both outpatient and inpatient centers. I currently hold an LPC in the State of Michigan and also practice independently.

About My Work (Ideal Clients)…

I possess no ideal image of a client. Having accumulated over 24 years of experience in the field of mental health I believe we need to be highly adaptable. However, adaptability is the ability to relate and empathize with the client’s current emotional state in a non-judgmental manner.

About Me (Personal Interests)…

I reside in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan which is an absolute playground for all who enjoy the wilds of nature. I am a diehard motorcyclist, and it is a passion and addiction that i have battled since the age of 10! I try to spend as much time as I can, camping, fishing, and roaming this beautiful country.
