Kylie Brewer, MFT

About My Approach (Style) to Therapy…

As a therapist, I prioritize authenticity in my work with clients. I focus on creating sessions that center around each individual, meeting them where they are in their journey. I favor somatic approaches over traditional CBT, emphasizing a holistic perspective that considers various factors like family background, spirituality, physical and mental health, and cultural context. This comprehensive approach fosters a deeper understanding of oneself and enhances the connection with the world.

About My Background and Training…

I have a background in mental health prior to becoming a licensed MFT. I have worked with individuals with developmental disabilities, addiction, personality disorders and other mental health conditions. I have worked as a behavioral health technician in an inpatient setting as well as worked as a case manager for several years out in the community. As an MFT, I have grown to love working with complex trauma and PTSD and use models such as EMDR, IFS and brainspotting, among others. I have experience and training working with couple and families with a variety of issues from infidelity to working on boundaries and communication.

About My Work (Ideal Clients)…

I have a strong commitment to working with LGBTQIA+ individuals and specialize in complex trauma. My expertise extends beyond that; I also enjoy addressing a wide range of issues, including attachment concerns, relational difficulties, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders.

About Me (Personal Interests)…

I’m a mom of two girls and a wife, and I identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ community while also being neurodivergent. I have a deep appreciation for nature and creativity; painting and crafting are some of my favorite activities. I enjoy live music, especially rock, and love exploring new places and learning whenever I can!
